Spongebob Squarepants Floating Spincast Combo Kit (Colors May Vary)Reviewsa great first fishin pole for the sponge bob user. havent fished yet but he has a ball playing fishing in the house This should be a perfect kid's rod - my grandson is 5 and we took him fishing for the first time last week - the rod was a perfect size for him and he managed the casting and reeling in just perfectly - - however - after about 8 casts - he was no longer able to reel in the line -it just sat there no matter how he cranked in the reel - all of the adults tried to fix the rod - - to no avail - - there were no backlashes on the line - nothing - it just broke - - fortunately we were able to get him a regular adult rod that he could manage and he caught his first fish - a rainbow trout! this item was shipped in great condition and was right on time, great seller with good prices and fast shipping would buy from again. Solidly built, may seem heavy if you are used to the spinning reels. Works like the old school Johnsons from the 50s and 60s (not the cheap junk they make now). Try it, you'll like it! 8 FT 10 IN SALTWATER TELESCOPING ROD & SPINNING REEL COMBOReviewsThis rod and reel came really quickly. The rod is good in that it folds down to a good size for kayaking. The upper tip is a little worriesome in that it looks a little cheap. The retraction of the rod is more loose than I would like but wont know until I test it in open water. The reel is a basic reel which I will likely trade out. On the whole it met my expectations for my use. I was not looking for a fantastic product but one that was functional and I could not find a saltwater version out there. We will see how it performs in the spring. Average Rating: |
