The End of the LineReviewsThis is a great documentary and every person should see it. Fish stocks in the ocean are at dangerously low levels, with many species very close to extinction. This film tells you exactly what has happened, how come we didn't know about this before and what we need to do about it, quickly. The solution is a simple one and they have 3 suggestions. One involves being conscious about your choice of fish, how to eat sustainable fish stocks. For example eating farmed fish is not such a good idea because they are not produced sustainably, it takes 5kg of little fish to produce 1kg of salmon. Better to eat the small fish ourselves. In any case the larger fish are at such dangerously low levels they may never recover. Many governments are not monitoring or policing their fishing industries properly and the Japanese are raping the ocean and freezing what bluefin tuna are left so they can get more money for them later, when the supply dries up which will be soon. Asian supermarkets are absolutely nuts. Live fish crowded in tanks everywhere, if people don't buy them they just die. So its very selfish to eat sashimi now, or tuna. Or order endangered species from the menu of posh restaurants. If you want to know which fish are sustainable and preferable to eat go to (...) or (...). The ocean belongs to all of is but a few big greedies, as usual, are exploiting it and making billions, leaving us with nothing for the future. The whole balance in the ocean is being compromised by this. Stop eating the wrong fish. See the film and join the campaign. Another good film about turtles is "Chances of the World Changing". Top Techniques of a Walleye ProReviewsThis is a teaching video yet entertaining. I now know more about fishing for walleye than I ever did. Mike is someone you automatically feel comfortable with and would like to be along fishing with him. I would recommend it to anyone looking for advice on walleye fishing. Great video! Trolling crank baits, worm harnesses, and bottom bouncers with Planer boards are what this DVD is all about. It's not the when and where, but how to set-up and use different trolling techniques. This must have taken all of 2 hours to produce...a few "tips" on crankbaits and gadgets...nada on where, when, temp, or bottom rigs....save your money for beer and bait.....or try a different DVD... Cocoon C407 MED-Slim Line SunglassesReviewsI love them. They fit easily over my glasses, are comfortable and still look attractive. I won't lie to you -- these are not as fashionable as the one you'll see rock stars and spies wearing... But the ones with the Tortoise frames don't look too bad, and they work. My eyes are very sensitive to bright light, so I have to wear sunglasses. I used to have to spend up to $500 a pair for prescription glasses, and the lenses might have to be changed every year. It also was a hassle, especially if I had to do this while driving, to have to take off my regular glasses, make sure they were is a safe place where the lenses wouldn't get scratched, and put on the prescription glasses. With these, it's easy off, easy on -- just like it is for someone who doesn't wear glasses. I have to buy new ones only if I've allowed the lenses to get scratched or damaged. (Or possibly if they come out with more fashionable frames.) The wrap-around design really protects my eyes. In short, they're just what I needed. I recommend them for anyone who wears glasses and needs to protect their eyes from glare. My husband ordered these for me after my research and choice. I was careful to accurately measure my RX frames and lenses before I was confident I was choosing the right Cocoons "style". Reviews warned of odd fit, but I am pleased with the Slim Line (medium) fit and style. At first they seemed large on my face, but not so. The ability to wear these over my RX lenses is awesome. I like the stylish look and had some double-take glances my way today (the new eyewear, right?) I wasn't sure about the lens color choice and went based on a look/style. The product upon delivery included detailed information about the lens color choices that I hadn't seen in my pre-buy research. These are amber, I may have preferred the gray (I will not give these up now however!). While I was driving it was easy to see in my peripheral vision zones. Even though these have thick "temples", Do not let that deter your choice. I tend to be sensitive to light from previous bouts of ocular migraines and use visors, caps, or cheesy sunglass visors. The hour I spent on the beach today did not require the use of any of those! The case: Its alright. Made well and plenty of room for the sunglasses. When folded my Slim Line Cocoons are 1 and 3/4 of an inch tall/thick. I would be cautious of the zipper teeth as they may be sharp enough to scratch a lens. This is one decision and purchase I did well. Like others have said: I will buy more pairs! I am more than pleased! Delivery was ahead of schedule. It arrived on time. The sun glasses works so well on my glasses. It is indispensable in the hot summer. Average Rating: |
