I'm very satisfied with this basic rod holder. I bought 2 of them to mount to a overhead horizontal surface. They mount with 4 screws. They're constructed from a fairly thick sheet steel and protected with a thick coat of paint. The poles fit in very well. Easy in, easy out. If you're looking for a basic rod holder that works well, this is it.

i needed a ceiling mount for my fishing poles in the garage and after looking for four months these did the job. thanks you amazon

This is the 4th set of these ceiling rod holders I have ordered from this company -- both the product and the company are excellent-- very reasonable price for a solid metal ceiling rod rack set. Each set(front and back)holds 4 rods AND REELS(accomodates either fresh or salt -- very heavy weight to ultra lite-- and you control the distance between the front and back racks, therefore you can have a rack or racks for poles of any size (one of mine holds four 10 ft+poles and their companion reels-- another set holds 4 ultralite 5 foot freshwater poles and companion reels.) By the way, this is the only company I have found that offers this product--it was delivered very promptly and well packaged (really doesn't need the secure packaging for they are as solid as a rock.) All hard ware came with the rack(two long screws). I would suggest that some self-stick foam tape be used to protect the smaller diameter section (the front rod section)--However, this is really not that necessary -- my hangup. This thing will likely weigh more than the rods it holds! Very pleased. Comes with screws to mount to studs; i used some 3" 3/16 toggle bolts. I was scared to use a molly bolt...like i said, those steel plates are heavy!

I expected a heavy plastic product and was pleasantly surprised to find it made of strong metal. Good product, good price.

This is the best cat toy we have ever purchased. WE bought it about 5 months ago and cats still love it and it is holding up great to two very active cats. Best thing about it is that you can fish from the sofa for hours and keep them happy! Do not hesitate to buy this toy :-)

My cat loved this toy before I threw it away. I tossed it because the fishing line got caught around her leg and she freaked out. She ran under the sofa and I was afraid to reel in the line because too much tension on it might dig it into her skin. She bit the line and cut it off, thankfully, but I no longer trust this toy. I don't think this should even be marketed for cats.

My cats LOVE this toy. But in the span of 2 days, I had to return 3 of them because they kept breaking. This product is a total piece of junk. But there is hope! Solution: Buy a child's fishing reel - those plastic ones with characters on them (maybe 10 bucks, max) and the replacement Catfisher Lures, or any sort of catnip mouse. Attach catnip mouse to child's fishing reel, and enjoy. Our Finding Nemo children's reel has lasted over a year, and we have to hide it when we aren't playing!

I only spent $10 on this at my local Pet Expo, and it wasn't even worth that. My cats got to play with it for about 10 minutes, then the line tangled up, snapped, and now I can't get it back together. Definitely not worth more than maybe $3.00. The saddest part is that your animal will LOVE it, and then sit next to you on the couch watching you try to fix it for 2 hours. Do NOT buy this product, get a children's pole instead and just tie a toy to the end.

My Cat loves this toy, I mean LOVE... she loves to play all night. But I am on my second one, the first one broke and boy she was so tiffed the rest of the night after it broke, the next morning I went to the store to return it and get a new one. Nice invention, but could be more well built. It tangles and gets stuck or caught and then you have to take it apart and good luck getting it working again. I am on my 2nd one, thought I had to take it back. I may try that barbie fishing rod idea, for the price you pay, this is ridiculous to replace all the time...

I have a picky cat and she actually likes this toy. The only thing I have to say is that those little toys hanging on them with them being on elastic when they fling from the cat letting them go watch out for them to hit you.

Like the other review says, the mice will sit idle, but only if you don't wiggle your fingers. I find I can drive my cats crazy by running one long Freddy Kreuger-like finger down their spine and then pop a surprise mouse over their head. Their eyes dilate and spin like pinwheels before they pounce. It's a pretty cool toy, if for no other reason, that spares my hands the inevitable scratches and wounds from playing with our rough tom cats.

While this toy seems like a pretty interesting idea, I have to say my cat at least, a nine year old tabby, didn't seem to care for it at all, meaning I just wasted money on trying to entertain him. =\ However that's not to say kittens wouldn't like this toy, because I can see merit in its design. It's a glove you wear to protect your hand, and the little mice and toys dangle from the fingers for the cat to attack. My cat did play with it, but only for about 30 seconds. I think the main drawback is that the mice sit there, idle, until the cat reaches for them to pull them down. Otherwise, it's static, unless you yourself pull the mice down in front of them. Perhaps if this were a more hi-tech glove, there'd be raise and lower buttons in each of the fingers to give control, to create movement and entice the cat into playing, but that would be a much more expensive glove.

If someone thinks he/she can write a better plot than Jules Verne, PLEASE put some thought into it and do not offend our intelligence with this kind of story. A young Arronax that is envied by his dad? C'mon, guys, this is not 'The Bold and the Beautiful'! . Michael Caine and Brian Brown just manage to redeem this flick. Surely scriptwriters can do better that this!!

I was seeking for that movie for a year,now , Now I have it at a good price from this supplier.

I watched this movie when it originally aired on TV, and it inspired me to want to read the book. I had only seen the Disney movie before, but not since I was a little kid so I didn't really remember it. The book ended up being really different, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying this movie. The Stanley Kubrick version of The Shining doesn't have much to do with the book it's based on either, but I still love it. If you can watch this version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea as it's own thing, it's actually really good. I actually always thought it was one of the best made-for-tv movies, and I wanted to see it again but they never reaired it. Finally it came out on DVD after YEARS of searching for it, and I still like it. I don't understand all the negative reviews. I'm probably going to get attacked for this, but I actually like this better than the Disney movie, which I watched again not long after this aired. The Disney movie feels to me like a travelogue and has minimal story. This version has a better story and a more climactic ending. There's more happening. It's darker, edgier. There's more character development, and a couple new characters (Nemo's daughter, played by Mia Sara), which may make some people mad but I thought it added to the story. One of the criticisms I've heard people make of Jules Verne is that he wasn't very good at writing women. All the same themes and ideas are here, some of them are just presented in a different way. The special effects aren't as good as I remembered, they look kind of cheap, but halfway through the movie you stop noticing because you're drawn into the story. Anyway, give it a chance. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I realy enjoyed this movie all in all. I did not care much for the female entries in the film because it does not keep to Verne's novel. The first part is way too long in which Arronax (spell) senior is clearly defined as a blow hard. Once you get to sea then the film takes off. Alas however it yet fails to follow the novel. It also tries to be politically correct by save the whale thing. The characters are not even close to the ones in the novel. I give it a five star for my own purposes.

Short and to the point, this movie is not intended to be the Jules Verne/Disney version. It's quality, scenery, graphics, and story line are far superior. If you like science fiction, you will like this movie.

Very informative DVD and how the bamboo is harvested and what is done to the bamboo before it is shipped and what is done to build a rod

Although I had been a keen fly fisherman for some time I had never owned a cane rod. After watching Trout Grass I have a totally different view of the cane rod and it,s makers and exponents. This has to be one of the best put together doco that I have ever had the pleasure to have watched.(over and over) Even if you are not a fly fishing fan you would still get a great deal of enjoyment from this movie. Be warned, if you are a fly fisher you "will" want a cane rod after watching Trout Grass.

I do not own any splitcane rods and to be honest I always tease my fellow flyfishing friends with their bamboo rods as being "not of this time". Still there is something magic about splitcane as anyone who has casted with these rods will know. This documentation tries to show that magic and I must say they have done a great job. The whole process of buidling the rod from the Tonkin harvesting in China to the rod building in Montana is beautifully filmed and narrated. It was a pleasure to see the finished rod in use on a Montana river. A very worthwhile title to own.

You don't need to be a fly fisherman to appreciate this extraordinary film that is part travelogue, part "how to" instructional and part nature doc. The imagery is stunning and the film is never less than engaging. You won't regret buying this film.

Trout Grass is a delightful documentary that follows the making of "split-cane" fly-fishing rods from the lush bamboo forests of China to the delicate craftsmanship of the rod makers in Montana and eventually into the hands of fly-fishers. The film is both visually stunning and quite entertaining. The scenes, alone, in China with the vast acres of bamboo forest are breath-taking. Told in a linear fashion, the story is told through a whole host of characters - the Chinese women who collect the "cane," the American importer who must sort through thousands of samples, the craftsman who constructs the rod to the eventual fly-fishermen who swear by the final product. Of note, there is an excellent scene in the bamboo forest with a fly-fishing expert who we learn is the son of the legendary Hoagy Carmicheal. It is through him you learn that out of 1200 species, this very specific Tonkin bamboo cane is the "only one you can successfully make a rod with." And once I discovered that bamboo is actually designated a "grass," the film's title became quite clever. This documentary is a quick 45 minutes, perhaps too quick. I found myself fascinated with the meticulous detail that goes into creating and fashioning these fly rods, and ultimately amazed at the level of complexity required. All from a natural material I see everywhere but knew little about. Turning what may seem like an ordinary item into some rather extraordinary, Trout Fish tells the story of making of a "split-cane" fly rod and ultimately, the love for fly-fishing. As the narrator notes, it isn't just about a fishing pole, to him it is actually a "magic piece of grass" in his hand. I not only highly recommend this film to avid fly-fishers, but also to anyone who enjoys a well written and beautifully shot documentary.

This is a teaching video yet entertaining. I now know more about fishing for walleye than I ever did. Mike is someone you automatically feel comfortable with and would like to be along fishing with him. I would recommend it to anyone looking for advice on walleye fishing.

Great video! If you are a Walleye fisherman and you want to try Planer Boards and other trolling techniques, I really think you'll like this DVD. Trolling crank baits, worm harnesses, and bottom bouncers with Planer boards are what this DVD is all about. It's not the when and where, but how to set-up and use different trolling techniques.

This must have taken all of 2 hours to produce...a few "tips" on crankbaits and gadgets...nada on where, when, temp, or bottom rigs....save your money for beer and bait.....or try a different DVD...

Purchased two of these rods to take my grandkids fishin'. They were definitely ready to graduate from their bamboo poles. This is an uncomplicated rig that was easy to set up, and the children quickly mastered casting. They (and I) really enjoyed these rods! A great purchase!

I purchased this for a friends grandson and when the product arrived the box was broken open...other than that it appeared to be ok..still haven't given it to friend yet!

I bought this for my granddaughter so that she could go fishing with daddy. The set arrived quickly in perfect condition. My granddaughter practiced and practiced her casting and then did go fishing with daddy. Unfortunately she didn't catch anything but the rod and reel are very cute, sturdy....perhaps the next time they go fishing she'll get the "catch of the day."

so fun...ordered for a friend (who loves fishing) who recently had twin grandaughters. He loved the matching gifts and cant wait for the little ones to become his fishing buddies.

This fishing pole was a gift, the second Shakespear fishing pole we have purchased, one for our first granddaughter (which has caught many trout in Vermont) and now one for our second granddaughter. Although we have no history with this particular purchase, we have no reason to think that it will not perform as expected. Shakespeare fishing poles like these work just like the "big kids" poles, and we have been more than pleased with past experience.

Had issues with the first rod that was sent out, broke in 24 hours. The replacement that was sent at no charge was and is great the first must have been defective. Great game and fishing rod my husband loves it.

I got this rod to go with the fishing game I just bought for the wii. I was so worried because of the other reviews posted that it was going to break in 10 minutes of use. They were wrong. This rod is made of sturdy plastic and the reel on the side is attached very well to the rod. There is no way it can break unless you aren't efficient at using plastic. Most of the reviews said that a child was using it. I am 20 and my family are all over the age of 18. It is incredibly easy to use. The only complaint I would have about the product is it is left handed and not right handed. Though it is still very easy to use with your left. To be able to break this product you would have to be reeling incorrectly which I found very easy to do if you tried to reel too fast. Which is too fast for even the game to catch. This is done by moving the reel back and forth instead of moving the reel naturally around in a circle. If the rod broke then they really had to be doing something wrong because you wouldn't even touch that part in the game. I ope this review is helpful because I believe this rod was highly underestimated.

I find the fishing pole more of a pain than its worth. I think just using the Wii remote is better.

It seemed cheaply made and when trying to reel fish in very jerky motion. Couldn't use.

You dont have to have this item to play the FIshing games on the Wii but it makes it more realistic with casting and reeling in the "big catch".
